National Existing Home Sales Rise 2%

May Home Sales Nationally beat Expectations

Nationally Existing Home Sales have edged up 2% for the month of May 2008. The National Inventory of Homes shrank 1.8 percent to roughly a 10.8 month supply of homes. The National Median Home Price continued to decline by 6% for the month of May.

However, the Greenville SC Real Estate Market has experienced a 4% rise in Median Home Prices thus far this year! This continues to prove real estate fluctuates locally and each local market is driven by different forces. The number of total homes sold this year is off in comparison to last year but prices continue to rise here in Greenville South Carolina.

Latest Greenville MLS Statistics

Greenville MLS Stats--Jan through June 08

According to the latest Greenville MLS Statistics there have been 4162 homes sold thus far this year. The average days on the market for these homes are only 92 days.  This is not a long time, roughly 3 months, and this stat continues to show that if you price your home right, your home will sell in a relatively short time here in the Greenville Real Estate Market.

The median home price continues to creep up.  This may be really surprising to many because of the overall general state of the national real estate market.  The market here is softer certainly but homes continue to sell and prices have risen slightly this year, reflecting the dampened supply of new construction homes into the local…

The Westin Poinsett Hotel Downtown Greenville

Greenville South Carolina is certainly not the largest city in the Southeast but it definitely offers sophistication, charm, cleanliness, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

This week's photo is of the Westin Hotel in downtown Greenville. W.L. Stoddard constructed this hotel back in 1925. The newly renovated hotel offers 1920's style with modern conveniences and amenities. Guest rooms feature brass fixtures, marble bathrooms, and phone and data lines. The lobby and grand bathrooms are also marble. Other amenities include a business center and exercise facility.
