cleveland park greenville scYesterday was a balmy day in downtown Greenville with temps in the low 60's. So after work I went for a bicycle ride. Above is the Cleveland Park jet, which is otherwise known as The Anderson Memorial airplane (F-86 Sabre Jet). It was dedicated on May 19, 1963 in memory of Air Force Maj. Rudolf Anderson Jr., who was shot down during the Cuban Missile crisis. Maj. Anderson was a decorated pilot of the Korean War.

The picture below captures a new apartment building (Rivers Edge in downtown Greenville) on the far left, the Certus Loft Building center, and barely above it, Poinsett Corners condos in Greenville.

The last photo looks like an exciting climbing opportunity...actually just kidding. I honestly feel that people should leave Greenville's Iconic Root Tree alone so that it flourishes and can be enjoyed by generations to come. The Greenville Root Tree has become rather famous as this USA Today describes.
