Here is one of my personal, favorite buildings in Greenville SC, The Lofts at Mills Mill. I grew up riding my bike and go kart in the old mill parking lots and watched the mill sit empty for many years.
The mill was built in the late 1800's as a textile/fabric mill and was part of Greenville's rich textile history. Once closed it sat empty and uninhabited until it was purchased by a couple of local attorneys who later opened a restaurant inside. I believe office space was available inside during this period of time as well.
Later it was purchased by a developer and converted into luxury loft condos. There are over 100 condos ranging from 700 sq feet to over 2000 sq feet with a wide range of floor plans to choose from. The premises and grounds are always well kept and the majority of all residents feel it is a wonderful place to live. Amenities include pool, excercise room, and dog park.
